Dutch referee dropped from World Cup 2026 dies at age of 38

Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38. He had been selected as a VAR official for the 2026 World Cup but was removed from FIFA's list in May ahead of the tournament. No cause of death was immediately reported.
