ECB forecasting losses of up to £50m in 2027 despite visit of Australia for the Ashes
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is forecasting financial losses of up to £50m in 2027, despite hosting the Ashes against Australia. This follows a profit of £12.6m in 2025, with the projected deficit attributed to the cyclical nature of media revenues and a decision by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to withhold broadcast payments owed to members in 2027. County executives have been informed of the shortfall, though there is optimism the eventual figure could be reduced to around £35m.
