Eddie Hearn Fears Anthony Joshua Could Be Heading Into Disaster Before Tyson Fury Fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn has defended Anthony Joshua's scheduled July 25 fight against Kristian Prenga, arguing it is necessary preparation before a mega-fight with Tyson Fury. Hearn stated that Joshua's recent bouts — a points win over Francis Ngannou in March 2025 and a quick stoppage of Jake Paul — did not provide enough ring time for the 36-year-old to be ready for Fury. Speaking to Sky Sports after a London press conference, Hearn rejected suggestions that Joshua should skip straight to the Fury fight, warning that doing so could lead to disaster.
