EFL criticises UEFA over schedule clashes

The English Football League (EFL) has publicly criticised UEFA for scheduling Liverpool's Champions League clash against Atlético Madrid on September 9, the same day as planned EFL fixtures in the same city. Because Liverpool and Everton cannot host home games on the same evening, three matches have been rescheduled: Everton vs. Wolves (Carabao Cup), Liverpool vs. Tottenham (League Cup), and Wolves vs. Portsmouth (Championship). The EFL accused UEFA of being 'unwilling to cooperate' after Monday talks, noting that UEFA refused to move the Champions League fixture due to concerns over overseas travelling supporters.
