Elvira’s fairytale crumbles at the last to hand Spaun PGA Championship title

JJ Spaun won the PGA Championship at Wentworth's West Course by two shots, claiming victory on his Wentworth debut. World No. 294 Manuel Elvira, a winless Spanish professional, came agonisingly close to victory after eagling the 71st hole, but collapsed on the 18th with a series of errors including hitting into two bunkers and missing a short bogey putt. Elvira ultimately finished in a four-way tie for second place, handing Spaun the title without a playoff.
