Switzerland has lost two key players from its Nations League squad due to past fake COVID-19 document cases. Breel Embolo, the Atlanta United forward, was withdrawn after Swiss media reported his 2021 case of obtaining forged test certificates. Captain Granit Xhaka, Switzerland's record cap holder with 152 appearances, had already withdrawn last weekend amid an investigation into a doctor who issued fake vaccination certificates during the pandemic.
