England crush France by 82 points to keep Rugby League World Cup hopes alive

England defeated France 82-0 in their Rugby League World Cup Pool B/C match, with Herbie Farnworth and Dom Young each scoring hat-tricks in the record-breaking result. Despite the win, England remain in a difficult qualification position, sitting second to Samoa on points differential (+64 vs Samoa's +132) after their opening 30-12 loss to Tonga. England's fate in reaching the semi-finals will be decided the following weekend, with coach Brian McDermott having previously admitted their qualification chances were slim.
