England walk off after alleged racism in U15 WC

An England U15 match against the Republic of Ireland at the FIFA Under-15 World Cup in Azerbaijan was abandoned after England's players walked off the pitch following an allegation of racial abuse directed at one of their players. The game was stopped with Ireland leading 4-1, after coach Matt Thorpe beckoned his players off the field following a confrontation between players and an exchange between the coaching staffs. FIFA confirmed the match was abandoned due to England's refusal to continue, and the matter has been referred to an independent disciplinary committee, while the Football Association said it was awaiting more information.
