England's stunned by Tonga in Rugby League WCup opener

England suffered a shock 30-12 defeat to Tonga in their Rugby League World Cup opener in Perth, leaving their tournament hopes in serious jeopardy. Tonga's Isaiya Katoa was the standout performer, contributing 14 points with the boot and masterclassing the victory under coach Brian McDermott's watch. England must now rely on Tonga beating Samoa in a fortnight while also winning their remaining group games against Papua New Guinea and France to have any realistic chance of reaching the semifinals.
