English FA to drop support for Gianni Infantino after Wales withdraw backing

The English Football Association (FA) will formally write to FIFA withdrawing its support for Gianni Infantino's re-election as FIFA president for a fourth term, reversing its previous endorsement. This follows the Welsh FA (FAW) also withdrawing its backing, stating Infantino has lost their confidence, with the Football Association of Finland having been the first nation to withdraw support the previous week. More European countries are expected to follow suit in an effort to pressure Infantino into resigning.
