English players urged to reconsider Afghan T20 tournament

English cricketers including Ollie Pope, Luke Wood, Moeen Ali, Reece Topley, James Vince, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Laurie Evans have registered for the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) draft held in October. The inaugural APL tournament is set to be staged in the United Arab Emirates later this year, organised by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. The players are being urged to reconsider their participation, with an appeal for them to think about the rights of women such as their 'daughters, sisters or mothers.'
