European Boxing Championships: Jude Gallagher beats Maksym Bocarov to claim last-16 spot

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jude Gallagher defeated Slovakia's Maksym Bocarov by unanimous decision in the 60kg category at the European Boxing Championships in Sofia. The Newtownstewart native will next face France's Lounes Hamraoi in the last 16 on Monday. Gallagher was the second Team Ireland member to win, following Commonwealth gold medallist Jon McConnell, who also won by unanimous decision against Turkey's Necat Ekinci.
