European Boxing Championships: McConnell keen to emulate O'Connor's heroics

Commonwealth Games 70kg gold medallist Jon McConnell, 23, from Belfast, is aiming to replicate heptathlete Kate O'Connor's achievement of winning both Commonwealth and European titles. O'Connor won Commonwealth gold in Glasgow in July before claiming European success in Birmingham shortly after. McConnell now targets the European Elite Boxing Championships, which begin on Thursday in Sofia, Bulgaria.
