European Boxing Championships: McConnell, Moorehouse & O'Rourke through to medal bouts

Jon McConnell, Daina Moorehouse, and Lisa O'Rourke have all advanced to medal bouts at the European Boxing Championships, while Shannon Sweeney was eliminated before the quarter-finals. Commonwealth Games gold medallist McConnell, 23, secured a 4-1 unanimous decision victory over Poland's Damian Durkacz in the last 16 and will face Italy's Gabriele Guidi Rontani in the quarter-finals on Monday. Moorehouse also progressed to the last eight after defeating Bulgarian home favourite Zlatislava Chukanova.
