EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 SELECTIONS

Four Northern Irish athletes have been selected for the 2026 European Athletic Championships, to be held in Birmingham from August 10. Kate O'Connor, fresh from a Commonwealth Games heptathlon gold medal, and Nick Griggs will compete in the heptathlon and 5000m respectively, while Rachel McCann has been selected for both the individual 400m and the women's 4x400m relay. Jenna Breen of City of Lisburn AC has been named as a non-travelling reserve for the relay team.
