Everton beat Newcastle, will face Fleetwood in Carabao quarters

Everton defeated Newcastle United 3-1 in the Carabao Cup on October 29, 2026, with goals from James Garner (34'), Hayden Hackney (45'), and Thierno Barry (69'), while Dan Burn scored a consolation for Newcastle in the 88th minute. The win sets up a quarterfinal tie against League Two side Fleetwood Town, who famously knocked out Arsenal earlier in the week. Notable absentee Jack Grealish was left out of the Everton squad due to a breach of club discipline following an unauthorised absence from training.
