Everton ease past Newcastle to set up Fleetwood trip after Grealish is dropped

Everton defeated Newcastle in the Carabao Cup fourth round, setting up a quarter-final away at Fleetwood Town. David Moyes dropped Jack Grealish for the match, and Everton prevailed despite Newcastle registering 28 shots to their 11. Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle described the defeat, witnessed by nearly 8,000 travelling fans, as 'shocking', ending the club's hopes of winning the trophy for a second time in three seasons.
