Everton left with only one striker after Balogun deal collapses late on deadline day
Everton's £40m move for 25-year-old US international Folarin Balogun collapsed on deadline day due to issues arising from the striker's medical examination. The Merseyside club had already sold Beto to Fiorentina and Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City to raise funds, leaving manager David Moyes with only one striker for the first half of the season. Late attempts to secure loan deals for Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United and Tammy Abraham from Aston Villa were also rejected.
