Ex-Paralympian, F1 driver Zanardi dies at 59
Alex Zanardi, a four-time Paralympic gold medallist and former Formula One driver, has died at the age of 59. Zanardi was renowned for his remarkable career both in motorsport and para-cycling, having competed at the highest levels in both disciplines. He had previously survived a catastrophic racing accident in 2001 that resulted in the loss of both his legs, before going on to achieve Paralympic success.
