Ex-rugby player Rhys Thomas holds his own heart after transplant operation

Former Wales rugby international Rhys Thomas underwent a life-saving heart transplant operation in Cape Town, South Africa. During the procedure, Thomas was able to hold his own removed heart in his hands before receiving the donor organ. The operation took place in his hometown of Cape Town.
