Executive Board of World Boxing advances preparations for LA2028 and approves key initiatives

The Executive Board of World Boxing met in Glasgow on July 30, 2026, hosted by President Gennadiy Golovkin and Secretary General Tom Dielen, to advance preparations for the LA2028 Olympic Games. A major focus was the allocation of competitions for the 2027–2029 cycle, including the Olympic qualification pathway, with Italy and Hungary selected to host the two Olympic World Qualifier events. Continental qualification tournaments were also assigned, with Samoa and Nigeria provisionally awarded the Oceania and Africa qualifiers respectively, pending delivery of key documents.
