Exeter Chiefs' US takeover completed as Black Knight take charge
Cannae Holdings' Black Knight Rugby has completed a takeover of Premiership Rugby club Exeter Chiefs, becoming the first US-based group to take control of a top-flight English rugby side. The deal, also involving the owners of Premier League football club Bournemouth, is reported to be worth around £25 million. Exeter's members, who previously owned the club, voted to approve the sale; the Chiefs are two-time Premiership champions, 2020 European Champions Cup winners, and were beaten finalists in this month's Premiership final.
