Experimental Liverpool down Wrexham thanks to Rio Ngumoha’s deflected strike

Liverpool defeated Wrexham 1-0 in a pre-season friendly at Yankee Stadium in New York, with substitute Rio Ngumoha scoring the only goal in the 75th minute via a deflection off Wrexham defender Lewis Brunt. The win gives Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola two victories from two matches on his first pre-season tour as head coach. The match was attended by 42,204 fans, including Wrexham's Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
