F1 legend Lewis Hamilton ready to snub major Ferrari assistance after Canada display
Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton performed strongly in sprint qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, finishing fifth in SQ3 after a small mistake at the hairpin cost him third place by less than five hundredths of a second behind Lando Norris. Hamilton had opted not to use Ferrari's simulator in preparation for the weekend, and after describing the session as 'probably the best qualifying session we've had for some time,' he indicated that skipping simulator work is 'the way forward' for him. The result has reinforced his decision to work against conventional F1 preparation methods, having held his own against Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli throughout the session.
