F1 signs historic 10-year Rwanda deal to host African Grand Prix
Formula 1 has signed a 10-year agreement with Rwanda to host an African Grand Prix in Kigali, with the first race scheduled for 2030 at the earliest. The race will take place on a yet-to-be-built natural road course located 40km south of Kigali, adjacent to the under-construction Bugesera international airport. The deal, announced at a press conference attended by Rwandan president Paul Kagame, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, marks F1's return to Africa for the first time since the 1993 South African Grand Prix.
