F1 star claims Lando Norris interview was designed to catch McLaren champion out

Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has defended Lando Norris and his management team after journalist Donald McRae claimed his Guardian interview with the McLaren champion was heavily controlled. McRae alleged that Norris' management pre-emptively asked him not to raise topics such as his relationships with Max Verstappen and George Russell or the 2026 regulations, and shut down the interview when those subjects were broached. Montoya, speaking on the AS Colombia podcast, argued the interview was designed to catch Norris out, and praised the champion for handling the situation well.
