Farid Basharat removed from UFC roster despite 7-0 octagon run

Top-ranked bantamweight Farid Basharat (16-0) has been removed from the UFC roster after fighting out his contract. He went 7-0 inside the octagon, most recently defeating John Garza in July to extend his overall winning streak to 20 fights. Despite notable wins over Jean Matsumoto, Chris Gutierrez, and Taylor Lapilus, the UFC did not offer him a new deal, leaving him free to sign with any other promotion.
