Ferrari has made halo wing legal - but expect 2027 ban

Ferrari has reintroduced its halo wing concept on the SF-26 at the Miami Grand Prix, having previously removed it after the Chinese Grand Prix due to FIA legality concerns. The original design used a transparent material not listed in the permitted laminates under article C15.5.2 of F1's technical regulations, prompting Ferrari to withdraw it to avoid a rival protest. Although the revised version has been deemed legal for now, it is expected to be banned from the 2027 season onward.
