Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has responded to Italian reports that Lewis Hamilton is planning to activate a contract option to stay with the team beyond 2026, stating he will discuss any extension privately with Hamilton rather than publicly. Hamilton, who joined Ferrari for the 2025 season, endured a difficult start but has since recorded five podiums including a race victory in Barcelona in mid-June. His current contract is believed to cover 2025 and 2026, with a Hamilton-side option to extend into 2027.
