Ferrari staff see Michael Schumacher similarities in Lewis Hamilton, says former engineer

Former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley has revealed that long-serving Ferrari personnel are drawing direct comparisons between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. After a difficult debut season with Ferrari in 2025, Hamilton has rebounded strongly under the new 2026 Formula 1 regulations, claiming his first victory in red at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix and securing multiple podiums. The 41-year-old currently sits second in the drivers' championship heading into the summer break.
