Fery knocked out of Erste Bank Open quarterfinals

Alexander Zverev defeated Britain's Arthur Fery 6-0, 6-2 in just 59 minutes in the quarterfinals of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna on Friday. Zverev, the reigning French Open and US Open champion, hit 19 winners and will replace Jannik Sinner as world No. 1 on Monday, becoming only the second German man to top the rankings after Boris Becker in 1991. Zverev will next face Alex de Minaur in the semifinals after the Australian defeated Matteo Berrettini 7-6(4), 6-2.
