FIA explains Lewis Hamilton decision after Belgian GP investigation
Following an investigation into an unsafe release at the Belgian Grand Prix on July 20, 2026, the FIA penalised Ferrari rather than Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari received a €30,000 fine, with €10,000 suspended for 12 months subject to no further comparable violations. Hamilton was found to be 'in no respect at fault' and was determined to have been disadvantaged by the incident.
