Fifa accused of using ‘blackmail’ to force support for Infantino’s re-election bid

Jordan Football Association president Prince Ali bin Al Hussein has accused FIFA of 'blackmail', alleging that Gianni Infantino's administration threatened to withhold financial assistance from Jordan's federation if it did not support Infantino's re-election bid. Prince Ali, who previously ran against Infantino in the 2016 FIFA presidential election, also revealed that Jordan's players have not yet been paid for participating in last year's Arab Cup. The accusation comes despite influential West Asian Football Federation members such as Qatar and the UAE having backed Infantino to remain in his position.
