Fifa chief sacked after criticism of Infantino’s World Cup sell-off plan

Kevin Lamour, Fifa's chief operating officer, has been sacked after publicly criticising president Gianni Infantino's controversial FFE scheme, which involved selling parts of the World Cup to private investors. Lamour, who joined Fifa less than two years ago from a previous role at Uefa, had stated that Fifa's administration was 'deceived' by the plan and accused Infantino of acting as though he 'embodies Fifa' rather than serving it. His dismissal marks a significant development within the troubled governing body of world football.
