FIFA disciplinary chair waived Folarin Balogun's USA-Belgium suspension on his own, didn't consult 17 other committee members: Report
FIFA disciplinary chair Mohammad al-Kamali unilaterally waived U.S. striker Folarin Balogun's one-game red-card suspension during the 2026 World Cup without consulting any of the 17 other members of his committee, according to The Times of London. Balogun had received the red card during the USA's Round of 32 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina and was set to miss the Round of 16 match against Belgium. The decision is considered controversial as important FIFA disciplinary rulings typically require input from at least three committee members.
