Fifa president Gianni Infantino called to appear before Congress over Trump ties

Democrat Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, has launched a formal investigation into FIFA president Gianni Infantino, sending a letter on Sunday demanding documents detailing ties between FIFA and Donald Trump, his administration, and his family business. Raskin is requesting records of any gifts, payments, or benefits provided to Trump and his associates, as well as visitor logs from FIFA's office space in Trump Tower, which the organization acquired last year. The committee has also called on Infantino to appear for a transcribed interview before Congress.
