Fifa president Gianni Infantino denies claims Uefa paid off alleged ‘lover’
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has denied allegations that UEFA paid off a female employee who is claimed to have had a relationship with him during his time as UEFA general secretary between 2009 and 2016. The Daily Telegraph reported that the woman received a six-figure sum following the alleged relationship, with UEFA also covering fees for an MBA course. FIFA dismissed the allegations as 'categorically untrue,' while UEFA confirmed a departure payment was made but stated it was 'in line' with regulations at the time.
