Fifa to pay Somali referee Artan full World Cup fee

Somali referee Omar Artan, who was denied entry to the United States and therefore unable to officiate at the World Cup, will receive his full tournament fee from FIFA. The governing body confirmed it will pay Artan despite his inability to participate in the competition. The decision ensures Artan is not financially penalised for circumstances outside his control.
