Fight Like a Girl: how boxing helped Clarck Ntambwe rebuild a broken life
Matthew Leutwyler's film 'Fight Like a Girl' tells the story of Clarck Ntambwe, a young woman from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who turned to boxing after her father was murdered, training under Balezi 'Kibomango' Bagunda, a former child soldier turned boxing champion who founded a women's boxing club in Goma. Kibomango was killed by M23 rebels while helping Leutwyler evacuate 41 children from a village under attack in eastern Congo, shortly after the film was completed. The movie serves as both a tribute to Ntambwe's journey and a memorial to Kibomango's legacy.
