Filipino hockey representation arrives at 2026 Amerigol LATAM Cup

The Philippines Fil-Nation Select program is making its debut at the 2026 Amerigol LATAM Cup in Florida, fielding Under-12 and Under-16 teams composed of players of Filipino heritage from across the United States and Canada. Former NHL forward Tim Stapleton, who played 118 games with the Maple Leafs, Thrashers, and Jets from 2009-12 and is recognized as the first NHL player of Filipino descent, is helping coach and inspire the teams. The tournament, running Saturday through Sunday at two Florida rinks, features more than 1,500 players representing 16 countries and territories.
