Fils' Sinner reality check: 'Great tennis isn't enough'
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated Arthur Fils at the Mutua Madrid Open on Friday, ending the Frenchman's nine-match winning streak in an 87-minute match. Sinner is now one win away from becoming the first player to claim five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 titles in series history since 1990. Fils, who made just 49% of his first serves and was broken three times, admitted that playing great tennis was simply not enough against the Italian champion.
