Financial ‘exceptions’ made for Pep Guardiola to become next Italy head coach

Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president Giovanni Malago confirmed that financial exceptions have been made to accommodate Pep Guardiola as a candidate for the Italy head coach role. Guardiola, who left Manchester City after a 10-year tenure that included six Premier League titles and the Champions League, has reportedly held talks with the FIGC. The vacancy arose after Gennaro Gattuso resigned in April following Italy's failure to qualify for a third consecutive World Cup tournament.
