Finucane takes 4th gold, makes Comm Games history

Welsh cyclist Emma Finucane won the women's keirin at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, defeating New Zealand's Olympic champion Ellesse Andrews at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome to claim her fourth gold medal of the Games. The victory made Finucane the first sprint cyclist to win four gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games, having previously won gold in the team sprint, individual sprint, and 1,000 metres time-trial. Finucane, who also won Olympic gold in the team sprint at Paris 2024, said she plans to rest before targeting the Track World Championships in Shanghai in October.
