Five nations share first six golds at the European Elite Boxing Championships

Five nations — Azerbaijan, Ireland, Russia, Türkiye, and Ukraine — shared the first six gold medals at the European Elite Boxing Championships held in Sofia on Thursday, 24 September 2026. Russia claimed two titles, including Iuliia Chumgalakova's unanimous 5:0 victory over Ukraine's Hanna Okhota in the women's 48kg final. Ireland's 2022 World Champion Lisa O'Rourke also won gold in the women's 80kg category with a 4:1 split decision over Russia's Anastasiia Demurchian.
