Fixer in lucrative NCAA basketball betting scheme sentenced to 6 years in prison - ABC News
Jalen Smith, 30, was sentenced to six years in federal prison in Pennsylvania for his central role in a point-fixing scheme targeting NCAA Division I college basketball games during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Smith had pleaded guilty earlier this year to bribery and wire fraud charges, making this the first sentence handed down in the broader investigation.
