FLASH: Jamaica set mixed 4x100m world record of 39.99 in Gaborone
Jamaica set a new mixed 4x100m world record of 39.99 seconds at the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone on May 2, 2026, with the quartet of Ackeem Blake, Tina Clayton, Kadrian Goldson, and Tia Clayton running in a man-woman-man-woman order. Their time broke the world record of 40.07 set by Canada in the same session's first heat, which had itself improved on the previous world best of 40.30 set by Canada in Guangzhou the previous year. Canada (40.07), Germany (40.15), Netherlands (40.20), and Nigeria (40.24) also all broke the former world best and qualified for the final on Sunday.
