Flintoff leaves role as England Lions head coach

Andrew Flintoff, 48, has stepped down as head coach of England Lions, a role he took on in September 2024 following his recovery from a serious accident during the filming of Top Gear. His departure comes just one week after England Men's managing director Rob Key publicly defended him against criticism in a Sunday Times article that called his appointment a 'serious error.' Flintoff had recently been named Sydney Thunder coach for the BBL and had been expected to juggle both roles, but has now chosen to relinquish the Lions position entirely.
