Folarin Balogun available for USMNT vs. Belgium as red card ban suspended

FIFA has confirmed that USMNT striker Folarin Balogun, 25, will be available for the United States' World Cup round-of-16 match against Belgium at Lumen Field in Seattle on Monday, after his one-game red card ban was suspended. Balogun had received a straight red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina for a foul on defender Tarik Muharemovic, which automatically triggered a suspension under Article 10.5 of FIFA's tournament rules. FIFA suspended the ban under Article 27 of its disciplinary code, placing Balogun on a one-year probationary period during which any similar infringement would result in the original sanction being enforced.
