Former Avalanche All-Star Terminates KHL Deal In Bold Bid To Return To NHL

Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has terminated his contract with KHL Spartak and is pursuing a return to the NHL, according to his agent Stanislav Romanov. Georgiev previously peaked during his time with the Colorado Avalanche, leading the NHL with 38 wins in the 2023-24 season and tying for the league lead in victories the prior season. His career subsequently declined, leading him to move through three leagues in under two seasons before making this latest bid to re-establish himself in North America.
