Former unified welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr. has announced his retirement from professional boxing at the age of 36, following his second consecutive career loss, which occurred in Australia on July 26, 2026. The Long Island-born, DeSoto, Texas-raised fighter had been considered one of the most feared welterweights in the sport before suffering his first loss to Terence Crawford approximately three years prior.
